How long does it take for the withdrawal symptons to go away? I got off Cymbalta 5/31 and had severe reactions, my dr put me on Prosac for six weeks, it helped. But I have been off Prosac since 7/25 and am still having some pretty bad withdrawal symptons. Head and body aches, electric shocks, paranoia, my feet hurt really bad, it's hard to walk on them and my ankles swell every day. Does it ever get any better? during my annual physical last week, i mentioned this to my doctor. he gave me 3 weeks of samples of cymbalta and said try these and see me in 2 weeks. everything i've read about cymbalta, is that it treats depression, and if fairly new on the drug market. i was disapointed because i figured the doctor would give me something on an as needed basis. why would he suggest cymbalta? will it work for anxiety/panic? If you want to start another SSRI (instead of continuing the Paxil), maybe it would help to start it sooner rather than later - I know that my dr suggested that I take a low dose of Prozac when I get down to a very low dose of Paxil because it can ease the withdrawal symptom from Paxil - and because of Prozac's long half-life - it doesn't cause many withdrawal problems itself. Then it was going to happen AGAIN but I was smart the second time and expected it to happen so I gradually poured more and more powder out of the capsules over the course of months to prevent withdrawal and the second time I didn't experience withdrawal at all. Only problem is the second time I soon after had my next full psychotic break. juliagulia45 Benzos you have to be careful about withdrawing from because the withdrawal can actually kill a person. I just began a Cymbalta (30mg/day) treatment regimen, and coincidently ran out of clonazepam one week later. Rather than wait in the ER for 4 hours to see a doc, I am waiting for my next scheduled psychiatric appointment for a refill. It's been two weeks now, and my appointment is in another 2 weeks. I was prescribed .5mg/X2/day (morning & night) of Clonazepam (along with Trazodone (150mg at bedtime) for insomnia. She ended up fighting both of us off like she had completely gone insane. We flushed all of her cymbalta down the toilet much to her dismay. Her withdrawal symptoms are severe but neither me nor her boyfriend know exactly what to do as i cannot find anything about cymbalta being abused in this kind of manner. Pristiq is ''the new Effexor, if you had success with Effexor and Cymbalta in the past I think it's a good choice. It depends on what you are expecting from a drug. The tricyclic SNRIs are rather sedating while the SNRIs are stimulating. Do you want to take your medication at night or during the day? Do you suffer from insomnia or hypersomnia? Those are questions that needs to be answered for a better medication choice even tho everyone can react differently to drugs. I had sweats, vomiting, nauseau, swimmy head, dizziness, clicking in my head (I felt like there were bugs crawling under my skin), electric shock sensations, and insomnia then excessive sleep. I went down on Cymbalta at the same time my Lamictal was going up in dosage so I didn't do like LCC - but it helped me to have something in my body, I suppose (the Lamictal). I went up on the starter dosage on Lamictal while coming down from Cymbalta. Cymbalta is the devil drug in my book. I have craved it several times, today being one of the harder days. Part of the reason is I have tapered off of Cymbalta and am now on day 3 without it. I have to say the withdrawals have really caught me off guard. I have electricity shooting through my body but mostly through my head, dizziness, achiness, insomnia, runny nose, canker sores, upset stomach and stomach ache, tingly arms, touchy skin, headache, mood swings and irrational thoughts. i had some traumatic events and ended up in the psych ward for seven days, the doc put me on remeron, kept me on the prozac added cymbalta and thru in klonopin as well. i tried to return to work and was a babbling idiot. i could not complete a sentence and or answer a question...literally. that is how i figured out i was med sensitive, because the docs were sooo suprised at my babbling idiot reaction. I was first prescribed Zoloft 50 mg on May 17 2007, by my general practitioner because I mentioned having panic attacks while driving. The panic/anxiety was beginning to limit my activities more, so I wanted to do something about it. After 2 weeks on the Zoloft, I experienced a major attack while a passenger in my husband's car. All the same anxiety attack symptoms, but also intense heat throughout my chest, stomach, arms and groin. Fastforward almost 10 years later.. I am trying to wean off of it. I have tried before with bad withdrawal and fearfulness of what would happen. I now feel even more depressed, which is strange I was never originally given medication for depression. After trying to wean off, I feel worse. I haven't had anxiety in years but my doctors told me "just stay on the meds for the rest of your life". It has been over a week and a half since I took myself off lamictal, I went from 100mg to cold-turkey. I've had very bad insomnia, anxiety, stress, irritability, lethargy, head feels weird. Mood is going up and down. Im not giving up though. I want to be off this medication, done and good. I also have a slight cold. I think its due to the lack of sleep and the things I need done. This is the last two weeks of school left and its pretty tough, withdrawing and everything. While tapering, in order to continue work and not suffer withdrawal, I was given xanax. I became addicted at one time up to 25 mg.s a day, down to 15 now. It's been close to a year. What is the best way to detox without losing my job? If I take a medical leave for 30 days in December and take no xanax, will that be enough time or should I continue to slowly taper? Also, my rehab doctor has given me Prozac to help withdrawal from the xanax. After I finished the project in mid-may, I decided that I needed to stop using a drug to get through the day, so I tried to just stop taking it. WOW! Serious withdrawal symptoms including joint and muscle pain, stomch issues, fatigue, depression and a strange hollowness in my nerves ensued. I didn't feel I could just stop functioning for a week or two or whatever it would take, so I used some hydrocodone that I had to help me get my tramadol use down to 100mg per day over the course of a week. this is day five ... have had all the horrific withdrawal as set out on the net as to the cymbalta withdrawal. Am trying to hang in there, but am scared about the tramadol part. I'm still taking the tramadol (i've done the tramadol withdrawal about three years ago and know how nasty it is), I know i need to also stop the tramadol, but am too scared to at this time. HAS anyone gone thru both of these withdrawals at the same time? and is it safe? I weaned off slowly but I am still having to deal with withdrawal symptoms. This withdrawal isn't anywhere near as bad as oxy withdrawal so far but it is still no fun. I have electricity shooting through my brain, it's really weird and comes in waves, body aches, dizziness, wicked mood swings, canker sores, upset stomach, insomnia and a general feeling of weirdness. Even though I can function, at times I am miserable.
